As part of the inter-disciplinary team, pharmacists are responsible for providing pharmaceutical care that entails the responsible provision of drug therapy for the purpose of achieving definite outcomes that improve a patient’s quality of life. Pharmacists also oversee the drug delivery system that integrates the application of the pharmacist’s specialized knowledge with the distribution of medication to assure safe and optimal medication therapy for the patient.
- Ability to assume responsibility for practices with level of competence, and practice in accordance with relevant legislation, CSHP standards and other relevant practice documents, professional code of ethics and hospital policy- Required
- Additional training or credentialing in pharmacotherapy considered an asset.
- Successful applicant will work within a fully automated dispensing device distribution system (PYXIS) and central intravenous admixture program.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all patients, families and visitors.
- Previous hospital experience an asset
- Must be able to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment.

Education and/or Certification:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from a recognized University or College of Pharmacy- Required
- Must be licensed with the Ontario College of Pharmacists- Required
- Actively in Part A of the OCP registry
