Reporting to the Operations Manager of Allied Health Services, the Certified Rehab Assistant (CRA) is responsible for provision of client care procedures under the direction of professional staff. The CRA is responsible for provision of client related services within the Rehabilitation Program, various non-client care functions aimed at maintaining and enhancing the program, and completion of other complimentary duties as per program job content/position assignments. All employees are required to comply with all safety procedures and safe working techniques and to report any unsafe conditions to their supervisor. The CRA complies with the Occupational Health and Safety standards for the corporation and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.
Minimum of one year recent related health care experience - preferred
Relevant training or experience in rehabilitation - preferred
Relevant experience in working with the geriatric population -preferred
Knowledge of safe lifting, transfer and ambulating techniques - required
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal directions
Ability to organize and prioritize assigned tasks
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
Excellent communication skills; Proficiency in French language is an asset
Education and/or Certification:
Certified Rehabilitation Assistant certificate or equivalent - required
Certification in C.P.R. required, BCLS - preferred
