Responsibilities:
· Provides front line supervision to Environmental Services Staff members.
· Participates in activities leading to the development, revision and implementation of Departmental and Organizational policies and procedures.
· Conduct Quality Control audits and checks on services delivered by the department.
· Develop and maintain the equipment, chemical and supplies needs of the department.
· Ensure adequate staffing needs are met in order to provide the daily services required by the organization.
· Ensure a patient focused approach is delivered and adhered to by all staff.
· Review and reassign daily assignments as needed as well as replace any vacant position(s).
· Administer counseling and disciplinary action as deemed necessary with direction from Human Resources.
· Comply with all local, provincial, and federal regulations
· Tour all areas of the facility on a routine basis to review building standards and conditions of service equipment are met.
· Assure that all safety regulations and fire procedures are recognized by staff and enforced.
· Holds the responsibility to be due diligent towards staff members-assigning work that is not in violation of any Occupational and Health and Safety Acts.
· Ensures staff are following organizational policies and procedures.
· Ensure a patient focused approach is delivered and adhered to by all staff;
· French Language proficiency is an asset
Qualifications:
· Grade 12 High School Diploma
· Professional Healthcare Housekeeper (P.H.H.) certificate– preferred or eligible to complete
· Previous experience in a leadership role- preferable in a healthcare setting
· Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft Office Software’s – Excel, Outlook, and Word.
· Must be able to understand and read English sufficiently to follow verbal and written instructions and measurements.
· Ability to work as a team player and practice exceptional leadership skills
· Practice good communication and organizational skills
· Effectively co-ordinate and prioritize work with having the ability to cope with high level of stress
· Demonstrate initiative, good judgment and reliability
