John Clark, Vice Chair
John is Senior Counsel at Miller Canfield LLP, with practice concentrations in estate planning and administration, business and not for profit corporate and commercial law, real estate, and business succession.
Windsor born, John is a graduate of Walkerville Collegiate, the University of Toronto (Trinity College) and the Faculty of Law, University of Windsor. He is a sessional instructor at the Faculty of Law in estate planning and administration, and since 2006 he has been a member of the Solicitors’ Advisory Committee of the Law Society of Ontario, tasked with confirming lawyers’ competency standards and setting and reviewing the Bar Admission Licensing Examinations. John has chaired or spoken at several continuing professional development programs for the Law Society of Ontario, the Ontario Bar Association, and Osgoode Professional Development. He was a member of the executive of the Essex Law Association for six years, serving one year as President.
John has served on the local boards of Victorian Order of Nurses, Windsor Housing Authority, Canadian Mental Health Association, and Leamington and Area Family Health Team, Chair of the latter three. Provincially, he was a member of the board of Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario Division, chairing its Branch-Division Accountability Task Force while Vice-Chair of the board of directors; and he served as Chair of the board of the Ontario Council of Housing Authority Chairs, and as an ex- officio member of the Ontario Housing Corporation board of directors. More recently, he served on the board of directors of the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce, including one year as Chair.
John is married to Sheila Gordon. They have been blessed with two sons, daughters-in- law and two grandsons: son Christopher, who lives in Windsor with wife Danica and their sons Calum and Keigan; and son Daniel, who lives in Ottawa with his wife Helena.

JC: To give back to the community.

JC: Mental health – especially children’s mental health

JC: We can’t ensure one alone, but we can work as a community partner with other stakeholders to work toward that end.
