Meet the Board
HDGH: What motivated you to join HDGH’s Board of Directors?
MG: I wanted to give back to the community. Born and raised in Windsor, I looked for an entity or organization that I felt could make a difference in people’s lives. The more I learned about HDGH the more I wanted to be a part of the organization, even if in a small way. We often think of healthcare in only the acute context, ‘going to emergency’ or a ‘popping into a clinic’. HDGH fosters a healthcare relationship with patients, as not every healthcare situation can be resolved with one visit to a hospital or clinic.
HDGH: What do you believe are the most prominent health needs in our community?
MG: Understanding that a ‘one size fits all’ approach to healthcare is not preferable or sustainable. Each person has the right to have a treatment plan that takes into consideration their unique characteristics and circumstances. One of the true tests of a caring society is how we care for those in need.
HDGH: As a member of the Board, how does the board ensure a healthy, equitable community?
MG: HDGH is committed to patient-centered healthcare. Each person is unique, with unique challenges and circumstances. Equity – true equity – is about each individual, regardless of race, creed, religion or economic status, having a fair opportunity and equal access to top quality healthcare.
