#MindsMatter - Stronger Than the Stigma
Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare woud like to thank Mackenzie, Dave and Jenn Cassidy for hosting #MindsMatter an event featuring guest speaker Micheal Landsberg, an opportunity to work out, collect pledges, win prizes, partake in a silent auction and raise much needed funds for Mental Health and Addictions at HDGH.
This event was hugely successful and we thank the Cassidy family for their support in raising over $100,000 for this important cause!!! It should come as no surprise that we asked the Cassidy famly to be our honourary tree lighters at that year’s Tree of Lights tree lighting ceremony. HDGH can’t tahnk our community enough for their support of this and other events
About
Hey Friends. It’s Michael Landsberg here- writing his own bio. Which means if I'm a jerk I will tell you how amazing my talk will be, and if I'm actually not a jerk, but a decent, confident guy I will say “you should come hear me speak because I think I can make a difference in your life”
I am not a Psychiatrist, or a Physician of any kind. I’m not trained in psychology or social work. My formal training on mental health is limited to Psychology 101 at University of Toronto where I got 56%. What I AM though, is a person who understands severe depression from the inside out. If there was a PHD in being a patient- I’d have a shot at it.
Between my experience with depression and anxiety and my lifetime of learning how to talk to audiences, I am confident my talk will make a difference in your life.
If you give me a chance, I can help you understand mental health better than you ever have, which could make you feel less alone, more motivated to chase help and become a better caregiver. Best of all- I will make it fun!
Make no mistake folks- this may be the best, most important, most entertaining hour of your life (but likely it won’t be anything close). If you miss it you will regret it for the rest of your life (also likely not going to happen). So am I a jerk or not? Come find out.
Hope to see you!
ML
Oh yeah- make sure you ask me why I have 11.24.08.YUL.MH521.0400 on my arm.
