Crisis and Mental Wellness Centre
The Crisis and Mental Wellness Centre is located in the TSC Building on Ouellette Avenue.
Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare’s (HDGH) Crisis and Mental Wellness Centre is a one-stop shop for mental health services. Serving individuals aged 16 and older, the Crisis and Mental Wellness Centre is a walk-in service for those experiencing a mental health crisis.
Services offered at the Centre include:
- Community Crisis Centre: a 24/7 telephone crisis response service for those who require immediate assessment, psychosocial intervention, and support. This service can be reached by calling 519-973-4435
- In partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association, individuals who utilize the Crisis and Mental Wellness Centre will receive prompt and responsive access to appropriate services and will be supported during wait times for these
- Timely Psychiatric assessment and consultation to individuals requiring diagnostic clarification treatment and/or management recommendations
- Therapeutic interventions, medication evaluation and monitoring and health teaching/coaching
- Group based therapeutic sessions
- A wide range of support services and educational programs to promote independent living skills
- Group sessions to assist people in developing skills and strategies for becoming and maintaining a healthy lifestyle

If you are interested in the services offered by the Crisis and Mental Wellness Centre, you may make a self-referral or be referred by any of the following:

- Police Services
- EMS
- Community Partners/Agencies
Cost
The Crisis and Mental Wellness Centre is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Services are provided at no cost to you upon presentation of a valid OHIP card.

Families’ and Friends’ Role in Promoting Safety
Family members and friends play an important role in patient safety. Encouraging attendance of appointments, taking medications and asking to be involved in understanding and facilitating treatment plans is recommended among family members and friends. If family members and friends have serious concerns about a loved one’s safety and well-being please utilize emergency (911) or crisis hotline (519-973-4435) services or locations (nearest emergency room or crisis centre) as needed. You are always allowed to provide us with information however we may not be able to relay information/feedback to you directly.
